An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic physiotherapist to join the Oxford Muscle Service, for a role with both research and clinical components.
The Oxford Muscle Service is a regional specialist service, supporting five surrounding counties for those with neuromuscular conditions. There has been a recent large investment to the service, with the creation of the MDUK Oxford Neuromuscular Centre. This research focused centre aims to lead innovation in new treatments by conducting clinical trials to benefit patients with neuromuscular disease. This new centre also brings opportunities for AHP research in both supporting and leading roles within the expanding team. With new and emerging therapies, this post offers a fantastic opportunity for a physiotherapist with an interest in neuromuscular and research, to develop their skills in this changing landscape of neuromuscular disorders and forge a neuromuscular career in this expanding field of physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
The Oxford Muscle Service is made up of adult, paediatric and research teams. Each team has multi-disciplinary input consisting of highly specialist doctors, physiotherapists (both clinical and research), care advisors and access to psychology. The teams work closely together to deliver a cradle to grave service. The post holder will work as part of the adult team to deliver out-patient clinical care with the neuromuscular population, with a special interest in Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
