We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated information governance Officer (information security) to join our exceptional information governance departmental team.

We are looking for someone who is a dedicated team player, able to work under pressure and have data security knowledge to join our team.

Your contribution will help Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust achieve its goal regarding Confidentiality, Data protection and information security.

The post is based at Lewisham Hospital although it is expected for the postholder to work cross site between Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital periodically.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Information Governance Manager (Information Security) with the management of the Information Security agenda within their remit. The post holder be responsible for day-to-day management of the Registration Authority (RA) service, and its on-going operation and maintenance across the organisation.

Be the lead IG Officer for IG Incidents, logging and responding to all IG incidents, accordingly, conducting investigations, liaising with colleagues, members of the public or regulatory bodies as appropriate to bring these to resolution.

To provide practical support to the Information Governance Manager (Information Security) and the other members of the IG department in the execution of their defined duties

Be the lead IG Officer for DPIAs/DSAs, supporting the IG Manager with overall management of DPIAs, liaising with service leads and other colleagues as needed to support them in completion of data processing agreements.

Be the lead IG Officer for IG Incidents, logging and responding to all IG incidents, accordingly, conducting investigations, liaising with colleagues, members of the public or regulatory bodies as appropriate to bring these to resolution.

    • Graduate or relevant experience

    • NHS Experience
    • Experience in Information governance or related field.


    Desirable

    • Experience of collection and collation of information for external assessments such as the DSPT, Care Quality Commission's Information Commissioner's Office


    Knowledge

    Essential

    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, both orally and in writing.
    • Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
    • Understanding of Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 2018 and Information Governance legal frameworks.
    • Understanding and knowledge of confidentiality guidance.
    • Understanding of the role of the Caldicott Guardian in the NHS
    • Knowledge of the DSPT

    • Understanding and knowledge of records management guidance
    • Understanding and knowledge of the Human Rights Act.
    • Experience of working on projects
