We have an exciting opportunity to join the well-established and respected Rheumatology Service based at the Haywood Hospital in Stoke on Trent as a Business Support Officer.

At the Haywood Hospital, we're committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients and creating a supportive environment for our staff. To support this we're looking for a dedicated and dynamic individual to work within the Rheumatology department providing critical project support to enhance the service provision through the implementation of new initiatives to improve overall patient and staff experience.

You will have oversight of patient complaints and concerns to ensure a timely response, appropriate escalation and learning actions are appropriately implemented.

You will work to understand and report on relevant performance indicators, working with individuals and teams to set clear standards and objectives, identifying training and development in conjunction with team, service and clinical leads.

You will be predominately based at the Haywood Hospital but we are committed to offering a good work/life balance and will consider flexible working requests.

Main duties of the job

As part of this role you will be expected to:
  • Work under your own initiative to prioritise and deliver own workload and that of the Rheumatology and other relevant services in meeting organisational objectives.
  • Line manage the administrative and clerical teams, identifying opportunities to improve and streamline processes.
  • Take lead responsibility for internal communications using the most appropriate methods.
  • Attend and arrange meetings as required and appropriate taking minutes / action notes where necessary.
  • Have advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications to facilitate team and individual level communications and meetings, including the promotion of new functionality to other users.
  • Provide the outcome within the set timescales following formal investigation of HR related issues and/or serious incidents.

  • oEducated to degree level in a related field e.g. Business management/administration or equivalent proven experience
