Are you a UK registered nurse who is ready to take on greater responsibility, learn new skills, and have higher autonomy in your role?

Join our amazing and supportive team at John Van Geest Unit based at Stamford and Rutland Hospital!

John Van Geest is a 22 single-bedded step-down ward providing further medical care to patients transferred from Peterborough City Hospital.

Our patients are often elderly and frail, with a mix of diagnoses and co-morbidities. Therefore, you will be experienced in working with elder frail patients in a variety of settings and possess a kind and compassionate approach towards providing patient care.

You will demonstrate strong acute clinical skills and expertise, as well as confidence in making clinical decisions and creating tailored care plans while working autonomously without doctor supervision on-site overnight.

We are looking for experienced and visionary nurses to help us further develop the service. You will have the confidence and determination to challenge and question senior leadership on decisions affecting service development and patient care.

Professional development is key to this role. We will provide you with leadership and teaching/mentorship training, as well as facilitating the development of your own clinical practice and skills as well as your team members.
