Coordination and Engagement Manager Band 6 - (Subject to banding approval)

We are looking for an experienced lead for our patient engagement team. The successful candidate will lead, manage and coordinate staff within a multi-professional service to enable patients and families to gain the best access to a range of appointments at different locations.

This is a new service so policy and procedure development and implementation will be key functions. Facilitating team support, managing competing demands, modelling flexibility and maintaining efficiency will each be within your skill set.

Main duties of the job

  • To be a competent, knowledgeable, and visible engagement leader, service coordinator and staff manager practitioner within the CYP GS (SW), ensuring the provision of high-quality engagement tools and practices, for children, young people, and their families.
  • Use advanced knowledge of patient engagement and support to lead and guide others and manage service delivery.
  • Understand the clinical pathway for the service and lead the engagement team through that pathway
  • Responsibility for incorporating patient engagement within the clinical MDT ensuring child-centered holistic support and needs are identified and provided for, including safeguarding concerns, and work with multi-agency teams in other services, as necessary.
  • Responsibility for developing and implementing engagement policies, procedures and processes and operate within a system to care for and safeguard children and young people, including direct liaison with patient's families and staff.
  • To facilitate good communication and consistency across the service in terms of engagement, service delivery and safeguarding support.
  • To support managers and staff in the delivery of high-quality care throughout the journey of the child or young person within the CYP GS (SW). Be able to adjust the support offered to clinical staff considering their learning needs, level of experience and confidence and competence in role.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of participating in a project team delivering improvement
  • Experience of designing and planning improvement projects
  • Experience in training staff or delivery of educational events
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Health or social care setting experience
  • Public Sector Language Competency - Be able to speak fluent English to an appropriate standard
  • Desirable Experience of working with patients in a health care setting in an engagement and facilitation capacity

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Educated to degree level/health care qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Evidence of managerial development
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Formal training in communication skills, preferably at level 2 or above
