The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care to individuals with acute medical conditions and building relationships and addressing their physical and emotional needs while ensuring the delivery of effective treatment.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Providing care to individuals with acute medical conditions and building relationships and addressing their physical and emotional needs while ensuring the delivery of effective treatment.
  • Administering prescribed medications and treatments to patients and diligently monitoring their progress.
  • Dealing with the specific symptoms of mental illness, de-escalating stressful situations and helping patients overcome challenges.
  • Building relationships with, reassuring, and listening to and talking to patients
  • Liaising with doctors, social workers and other professionals
  • Interacting with patients' families and care givers, offering advice and information on patients' conditions.
  • Preparing and maintaining patients records, producing care plans and risk assessments.


Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Nursing


Desirable

  • Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Honesty and integrity, and a very caring patient-centred approach


Experience

Essential

  • At least 6 months NHS experience in that last 3 years, and experience working within mental healthcare department
