Band 5 - Audiologist
The audiology team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBH) are looking for an enthusiastic audiologist with a passion for quality care to join their large, friendly, forward thinking department. As a band 5 Audiologist you will be expected to have previous clinical experience of working independently in adult audiology clinics, although this may include robust university clinical placements.
As a department, we have a strong focus on training, mentorship and continued professional development and have been IQIPS accredited since 2014.
You will have a degree (or equivalent) in Audiology and have obtained, or be working towards, professional state registration.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Role
- You will have experience in providing adult diagnostic hearing assessment and adult rehabilitation work
- You will have prior experience of independently providing ENT support and hearing aid repair and maintenance for service users.
- The service is based in Reading but is delivered across a number of Berkshire and South Oxfordshire locations. The clinician will be part of the team working across these sites to support the local community.
Additional Responsibilities
- Motivation to develop and diversify your clinical skills in order to manage a complex caseloads and potentially support other clinics within the department (i.e. paediatrics, tinnitus)
- There will be opportunities to push service quality and the technical knowledge forward.
- The role will involve training and supervision of internal and external students
- You will be involved in audits and service evaluations to help with IQIPS accreditation/support research/maintain the quality of the service.

- BSc Hons in Audiology or Equivalent
- Practical competency qualification (e.g. CCC, PTP)
Experience

- Experience in adult audiology, including assessment, hearing aid fitting and aftercare (including accurate testing and verification of hearing aids through probe mic and / or coupler measurements
Desirable
- Experience of utilising some wider adult rehabilitation skills (i.e. some of the followingtinnitus management/speech testing/CROS fitting/BAHA fitting/non-routine hearing assessment clinics)
