This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of an established CAMHS Eating Disorder team who provide specialist support to children and young people in Somerset. The team has links with other local and regional CAMHS Services in addition to external agencies and has a positive reputation for the support they offer.

As part of the team, you will provide a range of specialist CAMHS assessment and interventions. At the centre will be the goals young people and their families want to work towards. Additionally, you will provide supervision to other members of the team.

In Somerset, we strive to keep young people out of psychiatric hospitals which, for eating disorders, would otherwise be outside of Somerset. We thrive on innovation and part of this role will be to provide rotational support to free up capacity for core team members to work in a developing local day support option for young people with eating disorders. This is highly innovative and would be exciting to be part off.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities will include: offering clinical leadership to members of the team, developing and undertaking mental health assessments, developing formulations with the team and planning and delivering interventions, primary focused at supporting young people achieve their goals.

You'll need to be able to work autonomously but also thoroughly enjoy working as part of a team, joint working and supporting colleagues.

You will liaise closely with members of our multi-disciplinary team where there are opportunities to contribute to service development and innovation.

An extremely important part of this role is building and maintaining key working relationships with a variety of different groups therefore you must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently and enjoy multi-agency working.

Job description Job responsibilities

  • To develop and undertake mental health assessments, formulations and interventions with this client group.
  • To plan and implement packages of care to young people and their families
  • To work in close collaboration with the young persons Care Coordinator and other teams working with the young person and family
  • To provide advice/consultation to other professionals within CAMHS at times a young person is in crisis around risk assessment and management
  • To support members of the team through joint working, clinical supervision and training
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines whilst maintaining a team focus of care and intervention


Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • oRecognised professional qualification in nursing, social work or occupational therapy, at degree level
  • oEvidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
  • oManagement qualification or experience
Knowledge Essential
  • oDemonstrable capacity and capability for operational/clinical service management, including staff management, financial management and change management.
  • oKnowledge of adult health and social care agenda
Experience Essential
  • oExperience of working across organisational boundaries in a health care setting
  • oExperience of providing high quality effective services within resource limits
  • oExperience of delivering services within a performance management framework and of developing and implementing action plans in order to meet specific national and local targets
