We're looking for a senior data analyst to join us who can help lead the analytical and reporting team as we put into action new tools and techniques to meet Homerton Healthcare's current and future challenges.

Sitting in the People Analytics & Systems team at the heart of Homerton Healthcare within the People Directorate this post is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career. Your analytical skills and experience and will be critical to help drive improvements across the organisation and inform decisions.

We also offer an exciting place to be working in hybrid working is encouraged, and whilst in the office you will be based in our Corporate and Community Hub, at 6 Orsman Road - an exciting new working space. We have a modern and bright office area with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canal as well as shared spaces for all building users to make use of including a communal lounge, dining space and roof terrace area

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent

Skills/ Abilities


  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and databases (especially MS Office applications)
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing, with an ability to prepare guidance to accompany complex data, ensuring the data is easy to understand.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely and effectively with staff at all levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to present complex information
  • Ability to maintain good customer relationships
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Teaching and Training to both individuals and groups
  • Presentation Skills



  • A clear understanding of the NHS workforce information AF/I and systems
  • Good working knowledge and experience of databases including interrogation tools including Oracle BI
  • Good working knowledge of spreadsheets, with experience of complex formulae and calculations
  • Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues



  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word and Access and the ability to produce high quality, reports, graphs, analysis and statistics
  • Extensive experience of Electronic Staff Record (ESR), including Workstructures
  • Experience of working in an NHS environment
  • Substantial experience of HR systems interrogation
  • Significant experience of a broad range of workforce information and analysis
  • Experience of report writing and data analysis using complex and sensitive information
  • Experience of providing expert advice on workforce issues, workforce metrics and ESR system support to all users
  • Experience of providing a customer focused service
  • Ability to respond to unpredictable data requests and meet strict and non - negotiable deadlines
  • Evidence of analytical and problem solving skills
