Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a dedicated, innovative, passionate, skilled and motivated clinician with experience of working with a Cystic Fibrosis or Bronchiectasis patient population. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with empathy and compassion at the heart of the care that they provide within the framework of our multi-disciplinary team. The role will be split between inpatient and outpatient working whilst supporting a team of physiotherapists with the other band 7s.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • 2 years cardiorespiratory Experience
  • Relevant validated clinical courses accredited as equivalent to masters level
  • NIV experience acute/ Domiciliary
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
  • Ability to assess and treat complex patients in the respiratory/critical care field
  • Able to organise, prioritise own Workload
  • Experience in delegating appropriately to others
  • Supervision of students
  • Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others within formal and informal environments
  • Able to work actively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills


Experience

Essential

  • Experience within Cystic Fibrosis and or non CF Bronchiectasis
  • Minimum of 4 years post graduate experience


Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of cardiorespiratory physiology and pathophysiology specific to post Core Skills in cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy
  • Ability to assess and treat complex patients in the respiratory/critical care field
  • Core Skills in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.


Skills

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills
  • Ability to assess the work of the team, provide clear constructive feedback to the team in order to maintain and improve performance
  • Ability to support staff during the NHS KSF development review
