Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS FT provides the full range of local hospital services and provide some community and specialist tertiary services. We are also a teaching hospital operating within the Yorkshire region.
The Trust works across four sites and two Integrated Care Boards, with a number of exciting upcoming developments and projects at the Trust including the Bassetlaw Emergency Village, Community Diagnostic Centre, Electronic Patient Record and pan ICB surgical hub, along with continued work towards a new hospital.

We have a great opportunity for Senior Strategic Projects Accountant to join the Trust.
As an experienced Accountant, you will be ready to bring your passion and energy to provide strategic finance knowledge and experience to support the organisation in some of the exciting strategic projects and financial planning. Working across the organisation developing strong working relationships with colleagues and being able to demonstrate your ability to ensure appropriate financial governance and challenge are embedded in all aspects of work.

- Finance lead on a number of strategic projects, covering both capital and revenue implications.
- Developing, maintaining, updating and improving the organisation longer-term financial model.
- Overseeing the wider projects and planning team.
- Deputising as required for the Head of Financial Planning and Costing

- Experience of leading the financial and economic appraisal process for business cases.
- Significant experience of working in a large complex organisation at a senior level.
- Experience of preparing complex financial information for bids, involving working with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the HMT Business Case process and guidance.
- Experience of financial planning, both long and short term and including the development of complex financial modelling information for executive teams.
- Significant staff management experience.
- Significant IT experience, including the utilisation of Excel to prepare complex financial inforamtion.
Desirable
- Experience of providing finance support on large strategic projects.
- Experience of working in an NHS provider organisation.
- Experience of using NHS England's long-term financial model (LTFM).
Eligibility/Qualifications/Training
Essential
- Qualified accountant (CCAB) with significant post qualification experience.
- Masters level qualification or significant senior experience.
- Evidence of CPD

- Better business case foundation and/or practitioner trained.
