An exciting new position has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Quickstart and Maximising Independence teams, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic and coordinated care to patients. The post-holder will join the teams based at Battersea Studios, to support community patients in Wandsworth.

The Maximising Independence team provides a high quality, responsive rehabilitation service helping adults aged 18 years+ to regain their independence following illness or injury, to support them with their Long Term conditions and to promote health and wellbeing. The Quickstart Social Care Team provides high quality, rapid response social care support for patients up to 7 days who are at risk of social care breakdown. Without a social care package in place these patients would otherwise be admitted to hospital due to an overriding social care need.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work across Maximising Independence and Quickstart Social Care Teams to deliver highly specialist therapy assessment and treatment to assist individuals to maintain or regain their activities of daily living and well-being within their own homes. They will be responsible for providing local clinical leadership, operational management and advice to the therapists of the same profession, and be responsible for the education and supervision of junior therapy staff, community support workers, rehabilitation support workers and MDT students.

Person Specification



  • Degree or diploma in occupational therapy
  • Registered with the Health Care Professions Council
  • Up to date relevant knowledge through CPD
  • Maintains a portfolio of CPD in line with regulatory body standard
  • Teaching, training or mentorship qualification or experience to an equivalent level


  • Membership of Royal College of Occupational Therapy and / or relevant special interest groups
  • Attendance at Clinical Educator Course Specific
  • CPD modules relevant to specialist field
