Independently and confidentially perform 12 lead ECGS and ambulatory monitoring, (24 hour tapes) analyses results and provide a comprehensive and accurate report to enable clinical decision for patient treatment.

Performs transthoracic echocardiography, (TTE) using manual dexterity and precision, exercising specialist judgemental skills when acquiring images.

To produce a full, accurate and comprehensive clinical reports independently for each study, which will directly affect patient care and/or management. Responsibility for own caseload.

Works independently in the Cardiac Catheter Lab for angiography and device implants

Can independently perform device follow up's

Performs transthoracic echocardiography, (TTE) using manual dexterity and precision, exercising specialist judgemental skills when acquiring images.

To produce a full, accurate and comprehensive clinical reports independently for each study, which will directly affect patient care and/or management. Responsibility for own caseload.

Responsible along with the other Band 7 Physiologist for the operational responsibility of the department on a day to day basis. This includes a clinical workload (i.e. performing and/or reporting on all the non-invasive tests) as well as day to day supervision of junior staff.

Person Specification

Education and Training

Essential

  • Scientific knowledge acquired by Degree in clinical physiology degree
  • Membership to professional body acquired by examination either BSE (postgraduate diploma level) or IBHRE, HRUK accreditation


Desirable

  • Relevant accredited courses


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • d Experience Highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and in-depth experience in technical Cardiology with advanced knowledge of at least two disciplines of technical Cardiology acquired with proven experience
  • 1- 2 years post BSE Accreditation or HRUK or equivalent
  • 3 years' experience at a Senior level of independent practice.
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff

  • Able to draw upon a broad range of clinical knowledge

  • To be able to perform analyse and produce formal reports on a range of diagnostic tests independently
  • Organisational skills, problem solving
  • Teaching of the team of junior physiologis
