Several exciting opportunities have opened up for aspiring RMN's to join our teams in the community in the heart of Brent where we have various opportunities to help you become a more enhanced community practitioner.

We are looking for focused individuals, who are highly motivated with excellent communication skills. Community Services are becoming fast paced and rapidly changing to support the 'Out of Hospital Care' strategies, you will therefore need to demonstrate resilience in the ability to adapt to the changing landscape and opportunities.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to case manage an allocation of patients, monitor patients' mental state, promote independence, promote social inclusion, aid the recovery process, and reduce hospital admissions

Positions available to you

CMHT- Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm, however we are open to considering flexible working opportunities including condensed hours and working from home where possible to provide you with a healthier work-life balance

Person Specification



  • Registered Mental Health Nurse - RMN


  • ENB 998 / SLICE / Mentorship training or equivalent
  • To have completed preceptorship Programme



  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care & act accordingly if untoward changes occur
  • Keeping accurate records.
  • Experience working in a mental health setting
  • Practical experience of providing high quality care and exceeding expectations


  • Experience of working with First Episode Psychosis
  • Experience of facilitating group work.



  • Able to build constructive relationships with warmth and empathy using good communication skills (colleagues and service users)
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Use of initiative under minimal supervision.
  • To have an understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems
  • Able to provide supervision & support to junior staff & students.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • To have an understanding of implementing person centred care
  • To be able to participate in and provide management and clinical supervision



  • Up to date knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and amendments
  • Knowledge of the NMC code of conduct.
  • A working knowledge of the Care Programme Approach Framework.
  • Knowledge of new developments in nursing.
  • A working knowledge of Risk assessment and management.
  • Current developments in mental health care and nursing practice
  • Ability to treat service users with respect & dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach, which considers the needs of the whole person
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and how this impacts on practice.


  • Understanding of the EI framework and model for intervention
