The Head of Strategic Finance is a member of the Corporate Finance Team and reports into the Head of Finance - Financial Planning, Management & Performance. This is a high profile post :
  • Providing the Trust's Executive Directors with a comprehensive financial management service to support the delivery of the Trust's strategic priorities (excluding the Trust's Digital Strategy)
  • Acting as Finance Lead into the Acute Provider Collaborative program operating between North Bristol NHS Trust and UHBW and
  • Acting as Finance Lead into the Trust's strategic capital planning and alongside the Trust's Business Planning Team, fully support the production of business cases compliant with HM Treasury and NHS England requirements.

Main duties of the job

Provide senior financial support to the Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) Program and other work streams or projects established to deliver the Trust's strategic priorities including group model work.

Act as Trust finance lead for system-wide projects aligned to delivery of Trust and BNSSG ICS-wide strategic priorities and Joint Clinical Strategy.

Act as the responsible finance lead for Trust-wide projects requiring revenue financial assessment and capital business cases, ensuring all business case content meets the requirements of the Trust's Capital Investment Policy and NHS England's Building Better Business Cases.

Act as the responsible Divisional Finance Manager (DFM) for Trust Services including Finance, HR, Trust HQ and R& D but excluding Estates & Facilities and Digital. As part of the DFM role, support ongoing work with regards to the trust-wide financial recovery plan and delivering the Trust's longer term financial plan.
