It is an exciting time to be a nurse at Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department. We are currently offering both Permanent and Fixed term contracts and both Full and Part time.

As Sister / Charge Nurse you will help lead and manage the department so that high quality, evidence based nursing care is delivered to patients and their carers.

You will be an integral member of our team whom who maintain our on-going achievement of the emergency access standards.

You must be committed to providing high quality nursing care you will provide strong leadership and mentorship to junior staff and help support the senior team.

You will be a highly visible leader and be experienced as a professional role model. In working in a progressively changing environment you will promote the Trusts values and be committed to high standards of service delivery.

There is a dedicated Professional Development Team that supports to develop your skills not only as a clinical expert but as a leader and manager.

Job description

Job responsibilities

While working as a Band 6 Junior Sister within ED team you will provide care to a range of patients within your scope of practice. To contribute to the delivery of high standards of nursing care.

The post holder will be required to take charge of specific areas of the department or as a whole and assist with the smooth running of the department. With the ongoing support from the Band 7 team and professional development training team.
