Are you passionate about providing excellent patient care for patients diagnosed with skin cancer? Do you have the knowledge and skills or the willingness to learn to provide this across the whole patient pathway?
The ideal candidate will ideally have some experience in dermatology or oncology nursing with an interest in skin cancer gained through working in a specialist or senior clinical nursing role. The post holder will be the key worker for patients with suspected and confirmed skin cancer diagnoses and will be required to provide a complete nurse led service within the parameters of the key worker role.
Our patients are at the heart of what we do, you will be instrumental in gaining their feedback and using this to shape the service, along with regular audits. You will be responsible for shaping the service to ensure our patients have the best possible experience and that our care is in line with the Dermatology Delivery plan.

Main duties of the job
Act as a clinical expert and resource by maintaining specialist knowledge, expertise and credibility through direct clinical practice and managing a caseload of patients with suspected or confirmed skin cancer
Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, clinically effective nursing care within the Dermatology service.
Use clinical expertise and clinical skills to accurately assess an identified patient cohort and manage whole episodes of patient care independently.
Provide clinical leadership to staff within the area, working in close collaboration and co-operation with members of the multi professional team and outside agencies.
Establish and maintain collaborative working with clinical and educational networks.
Work within the Skin Cancer CNS team, with a focus on compassionate and kind support and collaboration
Reporting to the lead nurse on all aspects of clinical activities, including significant changes affecting provisions of nursing care.
Directly line manage and support administrative team
With consultant supervision undertake clinics
Support patients undertaking radiotherapy

- 1st Degree in nursing or health related subject
- Teaching/Mentoring qualification or equivalent experience
