An exciting opportunity has arisen to train as a High Intensity Therapist within Devons NHS Talking Therapies (NHS-TT) Service, TALKWORKS. This is a training role within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT).

The post-holder will work within TALKWORKS providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. TALKWORKS offer psychological therapies across Devon (except Plymouth) and works in conjunction with Exeter University. We are really pleased to be expanding our service and have 11 posts across the service, in various TALKWORKS bases.

TALKWORKS is a large, high performing NHS-TT service, with strong fidelity to the treatment service and model.The 12 teams across Devon (excluding Plymouth) cover a large geographical area and we strive to maintain a strong and healthy team culture. We welcome applications from positive and motivated individuals who are able to contribute to this and have a keen interest in developing their existing CBT skills with anxiety and depression.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, a strong background in clinical work and/or mental health and be an enthusiastic and motivated trainee therapist. The post will require resilience, independent learning and to be resourceful. You will hold a small caseload in the clinical environment, attend regular study days and will receive supervision from the University and within the work-place.

This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post- holder will work in the service for part of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the rest of the week (commencing 6th January 2025).

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
