The post holder will be accountable for the day to day delivery of set objectives, targets and standards to enable the provision of high quality, patient centred service that meets patient needs within the 24 bedded Critical Care Unit

Should be an experienced, clinically credible and highly competent registered nurse.

Possess a robust professional approach to service development and improvement. Ensuring that any changes to service , structures or roles are met with on-going professional development.

Main duties of the job

Supports the Matron to provide leadership and management for the development implementation and monitoring of Core Standard of Critical Care (D5)

Support effective patient flows and management of bed resources within the unit and Trust

Required to work flexibly to cover as service provision requires

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive recent experience at Band 6 in Critical Care
  • Strong management / leadership skills.
  • Evidence of involvement in change management.
  • Understanding of capacity and flow management.


Desirable

  • Shadowing/Acting up at Band 7.
  • Co-ordination experience.


Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (Adult)
  • ENB100/ENB 998 or equivalent mentor qualification.


Desirable

  • Leadership qualification/experience.
  • Degree


Work skills

Essential

  • High standards of accuracy.
  • Ability to understand, absorb and comply with detailed procedures
  • Able to manage more than one task at once
  • Able to perform as a shift leader.
  • Implemented recent change.
  • Understands need for change process
