Qualifications needed:

Full GMC Registration with a license to practice

Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders

At least 2 years of postgraduate experience

We are currently recruiting for a Community CAMHS Core Trainee Doctor (CT 1 - 2) position in the Dartford CAMHS Community Team, based at Unit 1, Twisleton Court, Priory Hill, Dartford, Kent, DA1 2EN. This is a new post, that has been created FROM UNFILLED Specialty Doctor funding.

You will join two substantive CAMHS Consultants and a Senior Trainee within the service, and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.

Job responsibilities

You will be expected to:

Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Dartford.

Provide medical support to the team, and direct input on clinical cases.

Work directly with children and young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers, and acute hospitals.

Work alongside the two CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists and Senior Trainee within the service

Develop links already established with the local acute trusts A& E departments and inpatient wards.

Be responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care.

Support your peers and the team manager and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative.

Supervise junior colleagues and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies.
