We are looking for an experienced clinician seeking a new challenge to work in our friendly and skilled team as aHighly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work within our close-knit and friendly team of therapists.

Wehave well established teams in Acute, Stroke, Critical Care and Head and Neck Cancer as well as significant specialist clinical knowledge and clinics for Video fluoroscopy and FEES, with opportunities to develop in this area if desired.

We are looking to develop the service provided to AMU and urgent care areas focusing on early assessment and intervention of communication and swallowing needs in these areas as well as follow patients who are admitted through to other acute wards, supporting staff as part of the wider caseload.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading change in the service, becoming an integral member of the urgent care teams, developing education and training to the wider Multidisciplinary team to ensure referrals into Speech and Language Therapy are both timely and appropriate.

Person Specification



  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Evidence of attendance on specialist short courses
  • Post graduate dysphagia training internal or external course


  • MSc in specialist area or working towards higher education learning
  • Practice Educators qualification



  • Post graduate dysphagia experience and ability to manage complex cases independently
  • Experience of managing highly complex cases
  • Experience of multi disciplinary working
  • Extensive relevant clinical experience at post graduate level
  • Evidence of attendance on specialist short courses
  • Relevant post-graduate clinical work and CPD at a senior level
  • Commitment to personal and team development
