An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Bedfordshire Hospital Trust.
Our rotational Occupational Therapy posts are a great opportunity to experience the acute hospital setting. You will work with a diverse range of patients and multi-disciplinary team members giving you a great opportunity to practice and enhance your OT skills across multiple specialties.
At Bedford Hospital,we have a fantastic opportunity for Band 5 Occupational Therapists to work in our well-established supportive teams. The areas are inNeurology/Stroke, Frailty & Complex Elderly medicine,Urgent medicine,Gastro & Oncologyand Orthopaedics & Surgery including amputees.
Students, newly qualified and qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job
1. To perform therapeutic assessment of patients with diverse and varied physical and psychological conditions, to determine a diagnosis and formulate and deliver an appropriate individualised treatment programme.
2. To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a specific area or ward, working without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from a senior occupational therapist is available when required. Clinical work is regularly evaluated by a senior occupational therapist.
3. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
4. To supervise work experience students on observational placement, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
5. To contribute and participate in evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice and improve service delivery within each clinical area. Make recommendations to senior staff.
