An exciting opportunity has become available for a current band 7 or a senior band 6 looking for a change or to further their career to join our team . The band 7 Clinical lead will be responsible for day to day clinical leadership on the unit as well as assisting the Lead Nurse and Matron with other responsibilities.

Main duties of the job

The band 7 clinical lead will be responsible for day to day clinical leadership on the unit ensuring safety, quality and capacity is maintained at all times as well as assisting with lead nurse and matron with other responsibilities including rostering and governance related topics. You will also be allocated link nurse roles and be responsible for the audits and action plans for these.

The applicant must be able to work flexibly, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Person Specification



  • first level registration
  • Educated to degree level or demonstrate experience of operating at this level
  • Evidence of professional development and regular study since qualification


  • ALS
  • health assessment level 6/7
  • Evidence of undertaking a recognised course of study in teaching and assessing

Communication and Relationship Skills


  • Skilled practitioner who can act as a role model
  • Able to work within a team a develop others
  • Able to cope with some unpredictable work patterns and changing circumstances and other pressure situations normally expected in an emergency environment



  • Substantial experience since qualification in an Acute Medical Setting
  • Sufficient experience as a band 6 in an Acute Medical setting, managing a team of staff and other resources
  • Evidence of high level clinical skills and knowledge
