This is an exciting opportunity for a caring, compassionate and dedicated Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Specialist Oncology, Haematology and Palliative Care Therapy Team. The aim of the role is to provide specialist assessment and support the rehabilitative agenda across the acute areas . You will work collaboratively with members of the Multi-disciplinary Teams to optimise patient function and wellbeing. You will empower those you care for to live as independently as possible, with choice and autonomy within the limitations of advancing illness. The successful candidate will provide specialist patient input and advice working alongside the multidisciplinary specialist teams to support those living with palliative conditions.

Main duties of the job

To work in collaboration with the Head of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy in planning, coordinating delivering and evaluating the specialist physiotherapy service provided to patients within the Trust on a day-to-day basis.

To provide specialist physiotherapy assessment diagnosis and treatment of patients, and to the out of hours services.

To ensure the delivery of specialist care to all patients in the Trust according to clinical priorities and as required by the Head of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.

To maintain close working relationships with other health professionals /referrers to ensure efficient, effective, and appropriate delivery of the service.

To supervise and educate student physiotherapists to a graduate standard, working with the Universities to ensure standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.
