An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team Leader to join our team.

The post holder will be responsible for managing their team by providing mentoring, supervision and education in relation to all managerial, professional and performance processes. Within the leadership role they will be responsible for supporting the team and providing feedback on the evaluation of good and poor practice, identifying training and education opportunities to improve practice and delivery.

They will also be expected to play a proactive role in quality and service improvement and working closely with the Cluster Lead, Advanced Clinical Practitioner and the multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will also have responsibility for the recruitment and retention of staff and the budget allocated to the service.

Overall the post holder will ensure provision of a safe, culturally competent, effective, timely and accessible service that is in accordance with national and local priorities, responsive to the needs of individuals in contact with the service.

Main duties of the job

The key components of the role are:

Professional, compassionate leadership, management and mentorship supporting staff through regular management supervision, team meetings and annual appraisals.

Establish an effective working relationship with colleagues from the multi-disciplinary team across the services and the wider organisation.

Development and improvement of pathways for people presenting in crisis and those who can be supported via admission avoidance.

Identification of support and development needs of all staff through discussion, management supervision and appraisals arranging any mentoring or training required for the identified individual.

Being responsible for developing and maintaining high quality standards of patient centred care.

Ensuring the educational needs of the service are met, to enable staff to provide safe high quality care, support and interventions.

Responsibility for the development of parity around the training, education and delivery of care for people with Mental Health & Learning Disabilities across the CRHT team

Developing relationships with external agencies, providers and the third sector to ensure that the service aligns itself to the No wrong door MH& LD Strategy.

Develop and maintain a communications strategy with the service to ensure staff are kept up to date with initiatives at service level, directorate level and Trust wide and ensure that the views of the service are fed up to the Senior Leadership Team.

Person Specification



  • Registered MH Nurse with live NMC Pin or Registered OT or Social Worker with relevant live registration
  • Post basic relevant study equivalent to degree level or willingness to complete.


  • Non-Medical Prescribing



  • Previous experience at a senior level (band 6 or above) within a similar specialty
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., ENB 998 or mentorship qualification

  • Proven teaching ability and experience of being an effective mentor/preceptor or facilitator
