We are about to embark on one of the biggest transformation programmes our Trust has ever seen. Our Electronic Health Record (EHR) will enhance the work of nearly everyone in the Trust, and also the experience of anyone who access our services receives.

We are looking for an IT Deployment Support engineer to work as part of a team of six to support the technical deployment of our new EHR solution. The role will include the build, configuration, testing, troubleshooting and deployment of end user devices (such as Laptops, desktops, Computers on Wheels, mobile devices, printers, barcode scanners and scanners), resolving Service Desk tickets and supporting the go-live of our EHR system. The role is on-site only and based at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (no remote working) but may require some travel between Hospital sites including St. Margaret's Hospital, Herts & Essex Hospital, Kao Park and other local sites

Main duties of the job

The role is critical in supporting the delivery of the Trust's digital strategy and the strategic priorities in PAHT2030, a new EHR is also critical to our readiness for our new hospital. The role reports to the responsible EHR Programme Manager with whom they will agree their work plan and expected outcomes.

You'll be working across the organisational boundaries, influencing decisions where appropriate, negotiating areas of improvement, seeking agreement and co-operation but always managing user expectations to ensure that they are aligned to the available resources.

  • Post Graduate Degree with Qualification/Accreditation in an IT specialism or equivalent relevant technical experience
  • ITIL V3 Foundation qualification

  • Experience as a Desktop Engineer similar function
  • Experience in effectively supporting a large scale, complex IT environment
  • Experience of supporting an Enterprise sized and/or Healthcare environment
