We are looking for an OT advanced practitioner to provide clinical leadership, for our OT workforce and treatment pathways and to provide senior clinical leadership in our multidisciplinary meetings .

The post holder will work closely with other senior staff to ensure effective caseload management and safe patient practice. The post holder will provide inspirational specialist OT leadership within the service, whilst also maintaining a level of professional input, to include specialist assessments.

They will aim to promote an effective ethos across the service, and participate in the review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the service and support and implement changes to practice where needed.

Main duties of the job

As a senior member of the locality team you will partake in the service development and improvement agenda with a particular focus on the strategic management of the OT workforce .

Job responsibilities

Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities

To provide clinical leadership to the OT pathway within the service. Including oversight of OT functional assessment, sensory integration, reablement and vocational pathway.

To offer OT training and development to OT workforce, students and the wider team.

To manage a small caseload of clients with OT needs and undertake case management/lead professional as needed.

To work in partnership with other agencies to gain the best person-centred outcome for the individual.

To participate in all clinical, business and service meetings as appropriate, to contribute to effective team functioning, service delivery and development.

To lead in recruitment and selection process of the OT workforce.

To develop and participate in the delivery of a clinical supervision structure for team members.

To take a lead on audits within the team to include helping to inform OT strategic development.

Education

Essential

  • oProfessional qualifications in OT and on AHP register


Desirable

  • oLeadership Qualification


Experience

Essential

  • oExtensive experience of working alongside people with complex mental health problems


Desirable

  • oExperience of leading staff or teams in practice improvement.


Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • oAdvanced skills in OT assessment, planning and therapeutic intervention.


Desirable

  • oExperience in audits


Knowledge and Understanding
