As IPS Employment Service Manager you will be responsible for the management and leadership of the IPS service. You will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective management of all operations in the team, managing the core team responsibilities and trouble- shooting operational problems.

You will lead the team to ensure that service delivery adheres to the IPS model and operates to sound fidelity standards. You will ensure that all work across the team is recovery focused, socially inclusive and person centered.

Main duties of the job

  • To manage the effective delivery of all functions of the team, ensuring that robust arrangements are in place to support service users, carers and partner organisations, and that the effective management of human, financial and estate resources is in place to achieve Trust objectives.
  • To ensure appropriate reporting systems are in place to capture KPI performance data required for Bedfordshire and Luton IPS service.
  • To participate in mandatory IPS Fidelity Reviews ensuring full participation from IPS staff, Clinicians, Information Governance, DWP and Service users, and to develop a responsive action plan and review to ensure continuous service improvement.
  • To work with external partners, NHSE, BLMK ICS, IPS Grow, CNWL, DWP, Local Authorities and Public Health.
  • To line manage and provide supervision to the IPS Team Leads.
  • To lead and manage the IPS Employment Service team to ensure service delivery across the relevant clinical teams covering Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Luton.
  • To be fully conversant with all aspects of IPS evidence based practice and maintain an understanding of all aspects of related policy and research and to communicate this to a range of stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

  • To ensure systems are in place for ensuring the Trust targets for key performance indicators, recruitment, retention, sickness monitoring, agency usage, supervision and appraisals are in place for the Service.
  • To ensure staff have the training and development required to meet IPS fidelity standards and achieve positive employment outcomes for service users.
  • To take responsibility to act using professional judgment and advanced problem solving when decisions have to be made.
  • To work creatively and independently with Team Leads and the wider staff group to achieve the required standards and to regularly review the quality and performance of the teams service delivery, both formally and informally.
  • To develop and maintain effective and positive internal and external partnerships across all stakeholders, including implementing clear lines of communication with all stakeholders.

Education/Qualification

Essential

  • oEducated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience
  • oIPS training


Experience

Essential

  • oPrevious experience of working within IPS supported employment services
  • oPrevious experience of working within the NHS and with senior health professionals, internal and external stakeholders
  • oPrevious experience of Management and Clinical Supervision of others, including annual appraisal
  • oPrevious experience of service development, quality improvement and of bringing innovation and new ideas to practice
  • oPrevious experience of working to targets whilst maintaining a recovery and person centered approach
  • oPrevious experience of working with employers to negotiate opportunities and resolve job retention issues for others


Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • oExcellent knowledge and understanding of the IPS evidence based model and Fidelity Scale
  • oSound knowledge of current and relevant local and national agendas that impact upon community mental health services and the wider health and social care system and the ability to understand and disseminate this knowledge to others
  • oExcellent organizational skills and ability to prioritise own work and manage own time
  • oAbility to build relationships and negotiate satisfactory outcomes with internal and external stakeholders
  • oExcellent skills of conflict resolution, negotiation and facilitation
  • oAbility to review and analyse complex data and recommend course of action and objectives and motivate staff to achieve them
  • oActs upon service user feedback and information to improve the way things are done taking personal responsibility for resolving
  • oTakes specific action to improve team or individual performance intervening promptly and constructively to support
