An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and enthusiastic Nurse to work on Cedar Ward as Band 6, Deputy Ward Manager.

You will be required to act as part of the management team in the running of a busy service, providing both clinical and managerial leadership to junior staff.

Main duties of the job

You would need to provide leadership, role modelling and clinical skills. We are looking for the post-holders to be enthusiastic, dedicated to the service. Our ward and wider services benefit from a welcoming, warm, multi-disciplinary team consisting of Psychiatrists, Health Care Support Workers, Mental Health Nurses and Physiotherapists. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic applicants to become part of an effective working multi-disciplinary team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification



  • NMC Registration


  • Post Registration Qualification appropriate to speciality

Experience and Knowledge


  • Post registration experience in adult mental health
  • Practical experience of providing high quality care and exceeding expectations.


  • Experience in providing and receiving supervision
  • Ability to provide highly specialised advice concerning care
  • Psychological interventions

Skills & abilities


  • Leadership skills (motivating, using initiative, change management).
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the multidisciplinary team concept and factors that affect good team working
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop staff through personal development plans
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage work under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
