Programme Manager - 6 Goals Programme for UEC (Secondment / Fixed 12months)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced programme manager to support the 6 Goals improvement Programme for Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC). The Programme Manager will be responsible for the delivery and reporting of defined projects and initiatives to support improvements in key focus areas within the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the Integrated Health Communities in developing and supporting their improvement programmes in line with the policy for 6 Goals. The role will require experience of managing a number of projects as well as demonstrating experience of working at multiple levels within the organisation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification



  • Degree and/or management or professional qualification at diploma level or equivalent demonstrated knowledge
  • Masters in Healthcare related subject (or commitment to completing in 3 years) or equivalent experience.


  • Management or professional qualification at post graduate level
  • European Computer Driver Licence Qualification or working towards it.



  • Significant relevant management experience working with multi- disciplinary teams.
  • Evidence of ability to implement and manage change in a multi- agency environment
  • Ability to provide examples of real progress against key objectives in the development and delivery of services within the NHS
  • Experience of Financial and HR management in a complex organisation
  • Experience in managing human resource issues and conflict resolution
  • Experience in preparing, producing and negotiating complex business and service development plans.



  • Ability to work autonomously with no close supervision
  • Ability to deliver performance requirements within set deadlines.
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of unrelated projects and issues on a daily basis
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to initiate/respond positively to change.
  • Able to analyse, interpret and communicate complex information in a way others can understand.
