We are delighted to share an opportunity for a Band 7 specialist physiotherapist/therapy team leader to join our dedicated inpatient therapy team at Mansfield Community Hospital. As we continue to develop our service, we are committed to delivering exceptional rehabilitation, interventions and care to our patients.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role as the clinical lead therapist and team leader across our inpatients wards. This position offers the chance to drive innovation and influence within a dynamic healthcare environment.

You must be able to demonstrate significant and successful leadership experience within an inpatient setting and show compassion and inclusivity.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

  • A broad understanding of the current local and national issues impacting on the Trust and service provision.
  • A substantial, broad clinical knowledge around the core medical, surgical and orthopaedic conditions in the 'acute', secondary care environment, and skilled in applying therapy frameworks
  • Modernisation Agenda for the NHS re new ways of working
  • Excellent leadership and communication knowledge and skills
  • Computer literate with skill in using databases/spreadsheets and powerpoint


Desirable

  • An understanding of Health and Social Care Policy


Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc/diploma in occupational therapy or physiotherapy
  • Practice placement educator / APPLE accredited
  • Registered with the HPC
  • Member of Professional body


Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post graduate clinical experience, most recently working as a senior therapist which includes leadership and management experience
  • Can lead change and is able to demonstrate implementation of new ways of working within the team
  • Proven experience of being an appraisor and supervisor of clinical staff
  • Recruitment and selection of staff


Contractual Requirements

Essential

  • Participate in the therapy managers rota when required
  • Flexible hours of working / weekend working when required
  • Ability to travel between Kings Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital


Desirable

  • Car Driver


Further Training

Essential

  • Specialty specific clinical and management short courses (add as required)
  • Leadership training
  • Supervision skills course


Desirable

  • ECDL or part ECDL
  • NVQ assessor
