Tiverton Hospital has two Intermediate Care wards specialising in the rehabilitation of our community residents following an acute hospital admission. Our wards use an integrated team approach with our nursing colleagues to support the patient to achieve their goals and maximise independence.

We have a vacancy for an Occupational Therapist to join our team on the wards.

The post holder will work with different medical conditions including stroke, falls, those with long term conditions such as Parkinsons or MS, post-surgery, and those with frailty.

We actively encourage professional development and have a regular in-house training and a supervision support system in place.

The successful candidate will need to have good IT and communication skills, and have the ability to work independently as well as part of the team.

Are you a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist looking for experience working in the Tiverton and Cullompton area of Devon?

We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our forward thinking and vibrant Team. We can offer a full time band 5 post working on the Intermediate Care wards in Tiverton Hospital supporting individuals during their inpatient stay, and working with the Onward Care Clinicians to arrange discharge and on-going rehabilitation programmes.

We have a wide and varied caseload, working with patients with long term, neurological and orthopaedic conditions, as well as dementia, and advising on manual handling methods to support their rehabilitation needs and their transition home.

We encourage integrated working with our NHS colleagues in multidisciplinary teams and also our DCC partners in the Social Care sector, third sector to deliver a high quality service in our locality.

The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and development of band 3 Rehabilitation Support Workers.

We are committed to the continuing professional development of all our team members and offer a supportive environment with regular supervision and encourage on-going external learning as well as providing internal CPD groups, training and peer support.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week.We run a 7 day service, meaning the role will include working shifts across the week so that we support all aspects of daily living. These shifts may include a mixture of 8:30 to 16:30 and 12:00 to 20:00.
