2 x Band 6 Rotational Paediatric Physiotherapist posts - 6 month fixed term posts.

Our rotations offer a wide range of experiences, including Musculoskeletal Disorders, Trauma and Orthopaedics, General Medicine & Medical respiratory, Oncology, Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), Neurorehabilitation and Neurodevelopment.

Main duties of the job

You will be supported by experienced senior clinicians who will give you professional support and training in each area. There is a well developed teaching program to aid your professional development.In turn you may also provide support and supervision toassistants and students.We are looking for Physiotherapists who are keen to gain clinical experience as a Band 6 within a friendly, forward thinking, and supportive Paediatric Therapy Service. You must have a proven desire to work with children and be an effective team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.As a rotational Physiotherapist you will contribute to the weekend on call rota. Respiratory and other appropriate training will be provided.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training


  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Registration with Healthcare Professions council
  • Evidence of recent and relevant post graduate continued professional development


  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy



  • Good communication skills
  • Good team player
  • Able to speak fluent English to an appropriate standard

Knowledge and experience


  • Extensive broad based NHS experience in general physiotherapy practice across a wide range of specialities
  • Post graduate experience of working in paediatric speciality
  • Evidence of caseload prioritisation
  • Experience of supervision/mentoring more junior staff
  • Experience of working at a senior level (band 6 or above)


  • Experience of working at Band 6 in an acute hospital setting
  • Previous participation in respiratory on-call rota

  • Proven desire to work in paediatric environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Sound knowledge of IT, enabling electronic note documentation, report writing and presentation skills
  • Adaptable approach to enable motivation of children

  • Evidence of utilising prioritising skills


  • Previous involvement in clinical audit projects
