We are looking for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join the South Hams and West Devon OPMH team based at Tavistock. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced and dynamic team as we move in to a more locally delivered service, linking in with our primary care networks.

The role is dynamic and challenging. You will manage a complex caseload of organic and functional presentation. Working in a multi-disciplinary way to support the mental health needs of our clients.

Main duties of the job

You will be working in a community team supporting the needs of people experiencing organic or functional mental health issues.

You will manage a complex caseload. You will complete assessments in the community and formulate diagnosis in a MDT. You will be linking in with your local Primary Care Networks. You can supervise junior staff and support their development. You will support student nurses in their learning

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • professional mental health qualification and registration e.g. RMN, Social Work Degree or equivalent, BSc/Diploma in
  • OT, SROT


Desirable

  • Chartered Clinical Psychologist, ENB 811/812 or Community Nursing Degree
  • Non-Medical Prescriber and/or another recognised therapy qualification
  • Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism
  • Clinical Supervision qualification
  • Training to level 3 in Safeguarding Adults and children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff


Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload of clients with a range of complex mental health
  • presentations.
  • Working within a community mental health setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
  • Mentoring students in line with professional requirements


Desirable

  • Providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
  • Participation in user involvement in services.
  • Experience of delivering model based psychological therapy
