Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality nursing care along the day case pathway and offering perioperative care to adult patients undergoing various day surgery procedures.

Staff are expected to support other sites within the health board, when necessary, thus the successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility within their service .

- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality nursing care in a specialised clinical setting.- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.- Maintain excellent communication with patients, families, and colleagues.- Manage caseloads effectively within defined clinical areas.- Take ownership of personal development and support the growth of others in the team.- Uphold professional standards and serve as a mentor to junior staff.To act in accordance with the NMC / HCPC Professional Code of Conduct.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications / Training


  • Registered Nurse (RN) holding current registration with NMC OR Operating Department Practitioner registered with HCPC
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and registration revalidation


  • Degree level qualification



  • Good liaison, negotiating, persuasive, motivational, empathic skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • IT literacy
  • Able to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised and evidence -based care


  • Appreciation of audit and research methodologies
  • Able to demonstrate a problem solving approach
  • Proficiency in ORMIS or similar hospital computer systems



  • Ability to travel within a geographical area to meet the requirements of the post


  • Welsh Speaker



  • Anaesthetic experience as a qualified or student practitioner


  • Previous experience working in a theatre environment



  • Knowledge of the role of the Anaesthetic and Theatre practitioner in a theatre environment


  • Informed consent guidelines
  • Surgical safety procedures and guidelines NATSSIPS/LOCSSIPS
