We currently have an exciting opportunity on Ludlow Ward.

We are looking for a forward thinking and dynamic nurse, that wants to give excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment. In return you will be supported to reach your full potential through onward learning and the in house accredited Orthopaedic course.

Ludlow Ward is a 16 bedded single side room facility, caring for patients on both NHS and Private pathways. As a team we are supportive of each other and welcoming of everyone. Main duties of the job

The post is responsible for providing skilled nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment, to ensure individualised and effective care is practiced. The successful candidate will act as a resource within the speciality of Orthopaedics, empowering junior staff to develop the highest possible level of clinical skills and facilitate communication within all care groups, whilst utilising the wards resources to promote excellence in practice.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (General) with good communication skills with the ability to assist with change and the drive to improve and develop clinical practice. The successful candidate will also be motivated, confident individual who also shows initiative, is a team player and who is flexible and reliable to meet the demands of the service and able to demonstrate consistently high standards of work.

Summary of Post

Under the direction of the Ward/ department manager the post holder is responsible for providing skilled high quality nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment, to ensure individualised and effective care is practiced.

Contribute to the continuity of good team spirit and high standards of nursing care. Empowering junior staff to develop the highest possible level of clinical skills and facilitates communication within all care groups.

Person Specification

Must have NMC registration or student nurse to qualify in the next 4 months.

Essential

  • Experienced registered NMC nurse or student nurse due to qualify in the next 6 months


Qualifications

  • RGN


Desirable

  • ENB 998, ENB 219 Assessors qualification
  • Evidence of continued Learning
  • NVQ Assessor

  • Experience in taking charge of a team/ unit
  • Specialist, experience, knowledge and skills required for speciality
  • Proven post registration experience in Orthopaedic/ Rheumatology/ Oncology nursing
