We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist, who is committed to providing excellent care to our patients in Croydon. You need to have proven skills in the management of patients with neurological conditions, across a variety of settings.
Main duties of the job
This is a new post and you would be instrumental in developing the role across both Croydon University Hospital and the Community. The post holder would be responsible for the expert clinical assessment and management of patients, providing patient-centred quality care to patients with a range of neurological conditions. You will be responsible for the assessment and management of both routine and complex neurological pathologies, encompassing the skills of advanced assessment, examination and management, within an agreed scope of practice.
The post holder will work as part of the Integrated Neuro Therapy team in Croydon, providing a range of specialized Physiotherapy input, supporting staff to deliver high quality evidence based therapy. The post holder will work collaboratively with Therapists, Neuro navigator, Consultants, Specialist Nurses, the wider MDT and GP's in primary and secondary care, providing expert advice, and guidance. The post holder will develop the service for the management of patients with spasticity across the pathway

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Registered as a Physiotherapist with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and CSP
- Evidence of post graduate courses relating to adult neuro physiotherapy
Desirable
- MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy practice/Advanced Clinical Practice
- Injection therapy course for therapeutic use of botulinum toxin in tone management
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Essential
- Expert knowledge of evidence based guidelines and policies in the management of adult patients with neurological conditions
- Expert knowledge of the healthcare system within the UK, relating to patients with neurological conditions
EXPERIENCE

- Extensive post graduate experience with significant recent experience practising as a band 7 Physiotherapist in adult neuro, across different clinical setting
- Extensive experience in management of spasticity
- Extensive experience of working in an NHS multi-professional setting dealing with adults with neurological conditions
- Experience of managing and supervising other staff

- Previous experience in an advanced physiotherapy practitioner neuro role with adults
