Senior Dietitian - Stroke Care & General Medicine
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Dietitian to join our team of 20 Dietetic staff at Colchester hospital, part of East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Trust.
This is a full-time permanent position based at Colchester hospital where you will work alongside the Stroke MDT and Band 7 Specialist Dietitians to provide an evidence based dietetic service for both adult inpatients and outpatients within the Stroke service and in General Medicine.
As a department we will support your individual personal development with regular CPD sessions and training opportunities e.g. study days and clinical supervision.
You must have excellent communication skills, be flexible and able to use their own initiative. Post registration experience in an acute setting is essential.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing a specialist dietetic service in General Medicine and be the lead for the Dietetic Stroke service based at Colchester hospital.
You will support the effective management of the acute clinical caseload by providing supervision, support and active input into inpatients referred to the dietetic service.
As well as supporting band 5 rotational dietitians, you will be actively involved in student training.

- oClinical Supervisory skills course/ Student training/ mentorship course

- oPENG clinical update course or relevant post registration training in artificial nutrition support
- oMember of the BDA specialist groups and PENG group
