If so, we would like to hear from you as we are recruiting for a Band 6 Senior Community Nurse to join our team. You will be supported to work with the senior nurses at across the localities who will ensure that you are given all possible opportunities for learning and development.

We are looking for someone who can show us that they are a team player and are committed to the profession. Today's Senior Community Nurse role is complex and involves clinical practice as well as leadership, management, operational and educational responsibilities.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you possess a level of clinical skill and experience that can be developed further to allow you to be confident in upskilling and teaching others.

Southern Health is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health and learning disabilities, as well as offering physical health community-based services.

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.

Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered nurse with current NMC registration
  • Mentorship/ ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Specialist Practice Degree (SPQ) in District Nursing OR Recent experience of Community Nursing/ Community Health care and a willingness to undertake SPQ


Experience

Essential

  • Understanding of the political factors influencing the delivery of community nursing services/ workforce challenges
  • Clinically up-to date
  • Knowledge of the Continuing Health Care (CHC) process/personal health budgets


Additional Criteria

Essential

  • Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder, e.g. Moving and handling, lone working
  • Car driver with clean licence Awareness of personal safety
