As part of the Clinical Division and in conjunction with the Divisional Director (DD) provide operational and managerial responsibility for the Acute Medical Specialties. This involves working in partnership with your Clinical Leads, other Service Managers and other management and professional/clinical leads.
Working as a key part of the management team, promote effective governance ensuring that the highest standards of clinical care and performance are delivered and that all clinical and non-clinical performance indicators, access standards and objectives are met, in line with the Trust's Operational Plan and long-term strategy.
There will be a particular focus on the performance improvement in the defined services in the Trust.
Support and provide strong leadership across the Division to ensure that staff are supported to deliver the best care and patient experience by putting patients and their families first and make the organisation the best place to work in the NHS by prioritising the health, wellbeing and development of people.
Main duties of the job
Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure services are comprehensively assessed, appropriately planned, effectively implemented and evaluated according to agreed policies, procedures and guidelines.
Provide operational management for agreed service(s), providing expertise, advice and guidance from a broad knowledge base to improve services by anticipating needs, planning and implementing change according to Divisional plans and objectives, and changing health care needs.
With the support of the Senior Management Team, lead on the review and development of service and workforce plans, in conjunction with other services & Divisions, the wider health care community and external agencies according to current national and local requirements.
Analyse and act on information to proactively manage and maintain NHS targets.

MCHFT provides a full range of local hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester boroughs (population 357K). The Trust provides high quality planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care as well as child health, maternity services, and intermediate care across our sites at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its 'Be Safe Be EquiPPEd' campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.
