We have an exciting opportunity to join our existing Autism and Special Schools team. You will be working at The Garden Special School. Wou will closely with other Band 7 therapists leading in these areas. As well as having your own caseload you will also be responsible for overseeing the operation of the service within The Garden Special School.
The post will also include:
- Providing highly specialist support and advice to support therapists working with Autistic children and young people in mainstream settings (Primary and Secondary) across the borough.
- Supporting with delivering Autism specific training to schools, internally within the Speech and Language Team and to our MDT colleagues across health and education
- Sessions are also available within our Autism diagnostic service dependent on experience and training - we can provide ADOS training if required
Main duties of the job
The service for children with Autism is overseen by Clinical Lead Specialists.
You will have a thorough knowledge of Autism, Learning Disabilities and working in education settings. Excellent interaction and problem solving skills are required.
You will be well supported via robust clinical supervision and have access to excellent CPD opportunities. You will also be responsible for supervising band 5 and 6 therapists across the service.
