An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to Psychiatric Liaison Team Manager in West BCU.
This is a high profile service within Ysbyty Gwynedd, acute general hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic and initiative individual to join our functioning, established team as we continue to develop the service.
We are looking for someone who is adept at supporting and leading others and have the ability to work autonomously. You will requiring a good knowledge of mental health issues and risk formulation. You will have good communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships. You will be required to be self-motivating and have the ability to work to deadlines.
Experience within urgent and acute services will be very helpful.
Applications will be welcomed from health and social care professionals or other experienced managers with relevant experience of both mental health work and operational management. Main duties of the job
As manager you will work with the Service Lead to have oversight of a 24/7 service based on a Core 24 model of Liaison psychiatry. It will be essential that applicants demonstrate a good understanding of the functions and requirements of a liaison team. There are targets to meet and the team manager will be expected to support the team in maintaining and improving performance.
The team is working towards Plan Accreditation and all Wales Standards. You will utilise quality improvement strategies and require an enthusiasm for QI projects and be instrumental in ensuring this work continues.
You will have experience of managing teams and of working in a multi-disciplinary way. There will need to be a careful balance between the demands of the ED and the requirement to provide liaison services to the inpatient wards and ensure there is parity of esteem for older people. You will be required to work with the team to meet targets for liaison work. There will need to be a degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
