We are looking for a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join and lead the Medical Rehabilitation Team at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust. We are based in the heart of Kent and with easy links from London and the Kent coast.

Main duties of the job

This post has the responsibility of working together with the Clinical Manager for Physiotherapy to lead on the review and development of the Medical Rehabilitation Physiotherapy service at MTW. They will work closely with the equivalent Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and the Clinical Lead Urgent Care Therapist to explore Development and Design opportunities across the Medical and Frailty pathways.

The aim of the role is to provide professional and enhanced clinical leadership to the Medical Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Service at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Hospital. Clinically the post holder will support and manage the Physiotherapy team within the Medical Rehabilitation Services, to enable them to deliver diagnostic and clinical care to patients and providing expert advice on complex clinical issues.

The successful candidate for this post will need to be self-motivated, forward thinking, and compassionate, whilst interested in improving the quality of service delivery. You will preferably have previous experience in MDT approaches to treating people on medical and frailty pathways and enjoy leading a team.

You should have advanced clinical knowledge and be committed to the learning and development of yourself, your team and students.

The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner providing a highly specialist Physiotherapy service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC State Registered Physiotherapist


Desirable

  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Involvement in CSP Special Clinical Interest Group
  • Accredited Clinical Educator
  • Introductory management course


Experience

Essential

  • Minimum post graduate experience (10 years+) including team lead in medical or fraility
  • Student or physiotherapy assistant supervision
  • Supervisory and performance management experience
  • Evidence of experience of leading audit and service development
  • Evidence of validated post graduate courses / CPD


Knowledge

Essential

  • Evidence of CPD at Masters level
  • Evidence of team management responsibilities
  • Evidence of teaching to MDT


Skills

Essential

  • Keep legible and accurate records including use of POMR format
  • Ability to work in an unpredictable working pattern
  • Pro-active in-service development
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of clinical governance/quality issues
  • Basic IT


Desirable

  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Experience/knowledge of working in Primary and Secondary care
  • Advanced IT Skills
