As a forward thinking and evolving service passionate and focused on supporting our NHS colleagues, we are looking for a Physiotherapist with musculoskeletal experience to join our multi-disciplinary and Maintaining Excellence Better Health at Work Award winning Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team.
In this role you will be involved in assessing, treating and rehabilitation of staff as well as being involved in health promotion and preventive work. If you have an interest in gaining knowledge and specialising in Occupational Health and Wellbeing, this post would be an ideal opportunity for you.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing timely and appropriate specialist physiotherapy assessment/diagnosis/management and rehabilitation for our employees with acute and long-term complex musculoskeletal conditions. You will be responsible for supporting employees with MSK conditions to remain at work or return in a timely manner. The post holder will also design and deliver health promotion sessions to prevent or reduce MSK conditions within the workforce.
As part of the role, you will act as a senior member of the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Team providing a responsive, effective and co-ordinated service in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. You will be involved in clinical supervision and continuing professional development as well as support and champion other related work programmes within South Tyneside and Sunderland e.g. clinical governance, risk management and health and safety.
Our Occupational Health Team are part of the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service which includes OH Physiotherapy Service, Wellbeing Team, Moving and Handling Team, Admin Team. The Occupational Health Service is a Nurse led service of Occupational Health Specialist Nurses, Occupational Health Advisors, Occupational Health Screening Nurses and Health Care Assistant. The Team works across all sites within the Trust, with the main departments being situated on South Tyneside District Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital sites.

- Evidence of teaching and/or presentation skills
- Membership of HCPC
- Knowledge and use of evidence-based practice directly relevant to healthcare issues
- Knowledge and use of reasoned clinical decision-making

- Knowledge of current Government drivers related to practice
