We are proud to advertise a position for an Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician to work with the Rheumatology team to make significant contributions to the development and delivery of Rheumatology services at South Tees Hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician with hospital experience to develop their skills and knowledge in a highly specialised clinical role. The postholder will work closely with Advanced Clinical Pharmacist - Rheumatology.
At South Tees Pharmacy, we are committed to the development of the Pharmacy Technician workforce and offer an array of training and development opportunities that match against the four domains of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and APTUK frameworks for pharmacy technicians. Postholders must have a BTEC Level 4 in Clinical Pharmacy Services, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
Main duties of the job
The role will include reviewing of patients on rheumatological treatments to ensure safe and effective monitoring and dosing, including holding patient consultations and reviewing of blood results, as well as being responsible for the provision and monitoring of homecare prescriptions. The post holder will accurately transcribe (following comprehensive training) to ensure medication supplies are optimised and timely. The post holder will carry out data collection and audits in relation to the service within rheumatology to help expand the team. They will also actively seek out service development and innovation opportunities to enhance patient services. The postholder will be a key member of the pharmacy team, making major contributions to the development and delivery of pharmacy medicines management strategies and the implementation of development plans for pharmacy services within the rheumatology department.

- BTec/NVQ level 3 in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent.
- BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Services and Therapeutics, or willingness to work towards
- Any national or regional accreditation of medicines management modules.
- Registration with General Pharmaceutical council as a Pharmacy Technician.
