A rare opportunity has arisen in our North Community teams to recruit a B7/6 Clinical Practice Educator.We are looking to recruit a highly knowledgeable, motivated and skilled Band 6/7 Nurse who is ready to work in an innovative environment where every team member makes a difference.You will be an experienced Band 7 in adult and community nursing. You will hold a teaching certificate or be working towards it with a willingness to undertake further academic study to gain one, such as a PG Certificate in Education. You will also have significant experience of working as a mentor and practice assessor.This post may also be offered as a Band 6 development role for the right candidate who has significant experience of adult and community nursing at Band 6 level. Evidence of supporting and/or leading on change management and teaching and mentoring learners are all essential elements of for determining whether this is development post opportunity or not.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will support and facilitate staff in clinical areas to identify opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care. In liaison with the Heads of Nursing and the Practice Educator team, promote a quality service using research and evidence-based practice including the setting, monitoring and auditing of clinical standards.To provide education and training to multidisciplinary team staff and assist in the delivery of training programmes for nurses to expand their skills. To develop guidelines and implement these into practice within teams. To support and work with team leaders to promote a positive learning environment for all disciplines of staff including pre-registration students. If the eventual postholder does not hold the essential qualification, they must undertake their PG cert within 1 year to move into the CPE post. This role is weekday working, very occasional unsociable hours to meet the needs of the role and service

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

- Professional Registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Recognised learner support qualification (practice assessor or supervisor) or completion of a recognised AHP Educator Programme.
- Willingness to complete a teaching qualification such as AET or PGCE etc. over time.
