An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, pro-active Paediatric Dietitian to join our department and work within the diabetes team. This role is suitable for a Band 7 dietitian but we can provide support for a fast track Band 6 to 7 for the right candidate.
This role will provide specialist dietetic care for the Bristol & Weston Children and Young Peoples Diabetes Service, which is a large team caring for over 400 children and young people. You would be fully integrated within the multidisciplinary paediatric diabetes team consisting of Consultants, Specialist Nurses and Clinical Psychologists. The team proactively supports Insulin Pump Therapy and Continuous Glucose Monitoring.
A good grounding in paediatric dietetics is essential and ideally you will have clinical paediatric experience in diabetes, however training can be given and competencies will be worked through for this developer role. Good team working and innovation skills supported by a drive for high standards of clinical care and knowledge are needed to help with the continued development of these services.

Main duties of the job
The Specialist Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian will provide highly specialised nutritional and dietetic advice for the children and young people within the Bristol and Weston Diabetes service. They will also provide relevant education and or training to all healthcare professionals, carers and other workers involved in the care of these children.The Specialist Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian will contribute to all relevant activities involved in this, e.g. ward rounds, outpatient clinics, support groups, training for other healthcare and patient groups, meetings, audit and research.The Specialist Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian will also undertake any other reasonable duties, which may be identified in consultation with the Head of Paediatric Dietetics and the Regional Specialist Dietitian.
