An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and innovative, senior paediatric nurse with extensive leadership experience, to lead and have senior oversight of the Integrated Community Paediatric Community Service.

Reporting to the Assistant Divisional Nurse Director of Nursing (ADND) the post holder isresponsible for and will have a specific focus on visible, accessible and strong clinical leadership, patient experience and the delivery of safe, timely, high-quality care.

Main duties of the job

Lead the service and quality improvement programmes alongside supporting the operational management of the Division.

Ensuring efficient and effective use of resources and the development and maintenance of the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.

Support the Divisional Nurse Director to deliver safe, compassionate, person centred care that is responsive to the needs of children and families who use our services.

Provide professional and clinical leadership and management within community paediatric speciality.

Work closely with the Operational Business Manager and Clinical Lead to set clinical standards and monitor quality metrics to provide ongoing assurance.

The Matron will line manage team leaders along with the education and Governance lead.

Contribute to the benchmarking of standards of care, development of policies and guidelines and working with other services, contribute to the ongoing improvement of seamless integrated pathways for children and their families.

About us

The Integrated Community Paediatric Service is led by Matron and Clinical Lead with support from team leaders and Practice Educator and Governance Co-ordinator and consists of various teams including medical, Proactive, Reactive Nursing and Specialist nursing teams, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurse Associates, Health Care Assistants and Health Care Support workers and Administrative and Clerical teams. The teams support children, young people and their families of Bolton in a variety of locations including patient homes, clinics and schools and support the urgent care agenda reducing unnecessary admissions to secondary care providing care closer to home.

  • Significant recent operational experience as a band 7 nurse or above
