We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our multidisciplinary Team within the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Why?

We have recently completed a re-structure which has created new opportunities and roles.

We have secured a new operational service based at Winwick, Warrington and satellite units in Netherton / Knowsley areas of Liverpool to support delivery of the service across the Trust footprint. We will also support opportunities for remote working in line with operational demands.

Who do we want?

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced MSK Physiotherapists with a special interest relating to the impact of work on health and vice versa.

If you are pro-active, dynamic, and motivated to support the development of the service, specifically with the introduction of preventative interventions, this job is for you!

Main duties of the job

What does it involve?

The role involves delivering MSK preventative workshops on a range of MSK issues, supporting colleagues remain in work, clinical assessment and treatment, sickness absence management and advice reports to managers/HR, functional capacity assessments in relation to fitness for role, new employee health assessments.

Job responsibilities

In addition to providing physio to the Trust employees, you will be required to provide an expert and reliable Occupational Health Service to other paying private organisations, including other NHS employers and private companies/businesses.

The service uses Civica Occupational Health (OPAS-G2) software which supports all clinical functions.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy/BSc (PT) or equivalent
  • Health Professions Council registered
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy


Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of CPD
  • Significant demonstrable post qualification experience in relation to musculoskeletal conditions
  • Experience in independently managing musculoskeletal caseload
  • Broad experience.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Working autonomously
  • Student Educator/supervisor
  • Assessing /treating patients with psychological issues i.e., 'yellow flags'
  • Sound knowledge of evidence-based strategies
  • A demonstrable understanding of clinical governance and Equality and Human Rights and legal policies in relation to occupational health.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services, including experience of quality issues and audit
  • Knowledge of the psychological issues of rehabilitation e.g., yellow flags.


Desirable

  • Evidence in CPD of experience relevant to occupational health field or special interest groups e.g. (MACP).
  • Previous experience of health promotion and education
  • Previous occupational health experience
  • Previous experience of outcome measures and involvement in audit
  • Specialist postgraduate study
  • Knowledge of field of Occupational Health
  • Knowledge of relevant NICE Guidelines

  • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate a physiotherapy treatment programme, using outcome measures and audit effectively.
  • Sound clinical reasoning.
