A wonderful opportunity to apply for the role of course lead for the M10 Professional Doctorate in Systemic Psychotherapy.

The post holder will lead the M10 Systemic Professional Doctorate. It is a 4 session 8b role.

The post holder will lead the team delivering the course and be responsible for managing the course team, the quality of the course teaching and learning, the development of research strategies, course budget and recruitment. They will ensure good relationships with applicants, students and staff and that all aspects of learning, teaching and academic governance are attended to including ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion is effectively addressed in student and staff recruitment, learning and teaching materials and assessment. They will lead course development including with partner organisations, and liaison with relevant internal and external colleagues. They will ensure that the course delivers a high standard of teaching in contemporary research methodologies.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the post

Line management of all relevant team staff including recruitment, appraisal and performance management, conducting regular career development review meetings, in order to review progress, set goals and ensure continuing professional and personal development.

Take responsibility for the internal and external management of the course, including budget management, recruitment and supervision of course staff, including alternate centre provision. This includes close liaison with the finance directorate and legal team.

Lead and oversee staff to contribute to the development of divisional initiatives and opportunities for growth and development.

Manage and support course teaching staff and develop appropriate CPD for them.

Take responsibility for the oversight of placement management (where appropriate), ensuring clinical placements meet Trust and Professional, Statutory, and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB) requirements.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Clinical/professional qualification in Systemic psychotherapy and appropriate professional registration
  • UK recognised Professional Doctorate or PhD or equivalent in Systemic Psychotherapy
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing personal development
  • Advance HE/HEA Fellowship/PG Cert in Higher Education or equivalent or a commitment to applying for fellowship within one year


Desirable

  • Management/leadership qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Significant post-qualifying experience in relevant professional field (to be specified)
  • Substantial experience of course organisation and teaching at postgraduate level or equivalent experience, including managing placements
  • Experience of managing a complex network of relationships, interfacing with a range of external agencies
  • Significant experience of social science research
  • Understanding of and commitment to the value of difference in experience in a training context and of overseeing inclusive teaching, learning and assessment strategies
  • Substantial experience of working as an educator

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of a range of evidence -based approaches to Systemic psychotherapy
  • Knowledge of local, regional and national policy and service frameworks for mental health and education, with particular regard for systemic psychotherapy as required.
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure requirements for delivering postgraduate and/or professionally accredited programmes of study, including academic governance and quality assurance processes
